UQWPC-Barras is excited to launch a Queensland’s first Talent Squad 11-week intensive program during Winter.
- 3 training sessions plus 1 waterpolo specific swim session (5.5 hours per week)
- Squad of 20-23 players /goalkeepers of each for Boys and Girls
- Open to players born 2008, 2007, 2006 and 2005
- Sessions at UQ Sport Aquatic Centre, St Lucia.
- Open to UQ Barras Members and the general water polo community
- Trial sessions are pencilled in on:
- Tuesday 17 May; 6:30-8pm Girls and 7:30-9pm boys,
- Wednesday 18 May; 6:30-8pm boys and 7:30-9pm Girls
- Sunday 22 May from 3:30-5pm Girls and 4:30pm-6pm boys
- Talent Squad announcement will occur the after the last trial. Final squads starting training from Tuesday 24 May and finishing Sunday 31 July;
- Tuesday – 6:30-8pm Girls, 7:30-9pm Boys
- Wednesday – 6:00-7:00am Swim for Polo (All)
- Wednesday – 6:30-8pm Boys, 7:30-9pm Girls
- Sunday – 3-4:30pm Girls, 4:30-6pm Boys
- Organised by Senior Coaches Bjorn & Akos, supported by Expert / Club Coaches, Olympians and Premier League Players
- Specialist Sessions including e.g., dieticians, strength and conditioning & video analysis
- Aimed for a Talent Squad trip to Christchurch (NZL) to train with and play against Canterbury Water Polo Club (5-10 July School Holidays). *Separate Cost for this trip.
We estimate the Talent Squad cost to be $630-$900 in total however this is subject to final squad number. Note: WPQ State Team training may clash, please consider this prior signing up.
