As part of our water polo ‘Return to Play’ strategy, Water Polo Queensland (WPQ) in conjunction with Water Polo Australia (WPA) are pleased to announce a FREE short-term membership to any non-members that will cover them through August 31, 2020. This fee free opportunity will give people the chance to try water polo for free ahead of what is tipped to be a great summer of sport in Queensland! This will encourage non-members to ‘come and try’ the sport for the first time or for past players the opportunity to get back in the water for a bit of ‘fun with friends’!
This free short-term membership also coincides with the decision by WPA to extend the 2019/2020 membership period to 31st August. As there is a real desire from members to return to training and playing, WPA and WPQ wanted to offer extended membership to make it easier for people to get back into the pool and get an additional two months membership for this current season.
WPQ CEO Melanie Woosnam, said “we wanted to offer an incentive for new and existing players to get back in the water as part of our ‘return to play’ strategy and this announcement provides a great participation opportunity for new and existing members. It also provides a wonderful opportunity for Associations and Clubs to offer a short 6-week social competition and/or program for existing and new members with the commencement of Stage 3 on 11th July. Existing members are encouraged to ‘bring a friend’ and introduce them to our great game! This will make the best use of the free membership offer and the extended membership period to the 31st August!”,
